This guide is for all users. 

Netwealth's password creation and reset facility has been designed to be user friendly and secure.

Using a combination of a secure password and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), users are more likely to prevent fraudulent access to their accounts.

Before using this tool, consider:

If not, you will not be able to change your password. To set up online access follow the below steps:  

a) Complete and submit the 'Change of details form' located in Forms and Documents > Super or Wealth Accelerator (select the most appropriate depending on which account type is held).  

b) Under step 3: Update contact details for correspondence and transaction election, ensure an email address or mobile phone number is entered.  

c) Under step 4: Choose a level of online access, and a communication preference (note that email address will be default if an email has been added).

If you never created a password (or have forgotten your password) and your account was set up more than 120 days ago, you will need to call us on 1800 888 223 to have a Netwealth team member reset access.

Your username is emailed to you immediately after your account has been established. Usernames and other confirmation emails are always sent by contact@netwealth.com.au. You will also find your username on your Netwealth Welcome letter which was posted to you. If you still cannot locate your username, please call us on 1800 888 223 to obtain your username by answering a few security questions.

a) Navigate to the Netwealth website www.netwealth.com.au and click 'Login' at the top right of the screen. Alternatively, navigate to the login screen via the mobile app. 

b) Click 'Issue new password' and follow the prompts to reset your password.

Advanced tip: Change your password regularly to protect your privacy and security.

  • A Netwealth team member will never ask you for your password in an unsolicited phone call or email.
  • Do not respond to any message that asks for your password.
  • Do not write your password down. If you must write it down, keep it safe in a place only you can access. Treat as if it were cash.
  • Change your password if you suspect something is amiss.
  • Verify your Netwealth account information from time to time, make sure your information is accurate and that no one has changed your data.

How to change your password

a) Navigate to the Netwealth website www.netwealth.com.au and click 'Login' at the top right of the screen.  

b) Select the 'person icon' at the top right of the page, and choose 'Security settings' from the drop down menu. Note, you cannot change your password via the mobile app.

c) To change your password, enter your current password, and then enter your new password twice to ensure the details are correct. Click 'Submit' to confirm your change.

d) You will receive a confirmation that the change has been made. If we have a mobile number on file, the confirmation will be via text otherwise an email confirmation will be sent.

How to enable Multi-Factor Authentication

As an additional protection against unauthorised access, we have enhanced account security by offering Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) when you log in to your Netwealth account. Follow the below steps to turn on MFA:

a) Navigate to the Netwealth website www.netwealth.com.au and click 'Login' at the top right of the screen.  

b) Select the 'person icon' at the top right of the page, and choose 'Security settings' from the drop down menu. Note, you cannot add MFA via the mobile app.

c) Select the menu item, 'Multi-factor Authentication' under the Security Settings ribbon. This page provides you with a QR code that you can scan with an authentication app on your smartphone.

d) Open your Authenticator App on your phone or tablet. If you don’t have one installed, open your phone’s App Store and search for any authenticator app such as 'Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, etc."

e) Using your authenticator app, add a new account and scan the QR code provided in step 2. The below outlines the steps using the 'Microsoft Authenticator' App.

e) Once the QR code is scanned, enter the enter the 6-digit verification code generated by your authenticator app.

f) Select 'Verify Code and Activate' to finalise the set up of MFA. Next time you log into Netwealth, you will be asked to provide the the 6-digit verification code from your authentication app. You will have the option to remember your device. This will mean you do not have to enter the verification code from the authenticator app for 30 days.

Frequently Asked Questions

There are a number of security measures in place to ensure that password hacking attempts can be prevented. If you are locked out of your account, you will be notified on screen and will be required to contact us. Our contact team may ask you a number of security questions and check that the contact details we have registered against your account are correct before proceeding. Some of the reasons you may be locked out are 5 failed password attempts 5 failed security question answers Inactivity for 12 months or more You have requested that your online access be disabled When our team reset your password, it will reset your security questions as well. You will have 48 hours from resetting to complete steps 1-5 to issue a new Netwealth password. For further FAQ's, please contact us.

For security reasons, only an account holder can reset their password. Signed instructions cannot be accepted.

Try setting a password that has a minimum of 12 to 14 characters in length. A longer password would be even better. Password should includes numbers, symbols, capital letters, and lower-case letters. Try Using a mix of different types of characters to make the password harder to crack. Stay away from obvious dictionary words and combinations of dictionary words, and avoid common substitutions for example replacing an o with 0.
